Condo Insurance in Texas

Why it matters
Know where the master policy ends
Condo coverage works alongside your association's master policy. Some master policies cover only the building's exterior and shared areas, while others include more of the unit's interior, so the coverage you need depends on what the master policy leaves to you.
Upgrades you make, such as new flooring, cabinets or fixtures, may also be yours to insure. Reviewing both policies together can help you find a gap before a loss happens.
Ask your condo association for a copy of the master policy so you can see where its coverage ends and yours begins.

Condo insurance questions
Straight answers to common questions. If yours is not here, call or text our agency.
A master policy generally covers shared areas and may cover parts of the building, but it usually does not cover your belongings or your personal liability. How much of your unit's interior it covers depends on the policy.
If your association charges owners a special assessment to pay for a covered loss to shared property, this coverage may help pay your share, up to the policy limit.
Condo policies generally do not cover flood damage. Flood coverage is usually a separate policy, so ask our agency about it if flooding is a concern where you live.
